AVOIDANCE
AVOIDANCE is a CGI documentary on Russian war crimes in Ukraine. It delves into the deep-rooted nature of evil during wartime, exploring the stories of soldiers who participated in war in Ukraine, confronting their perspective to Ukrainian victims’ evidence.
AVOIDANCE is structured around four novellas, each of them telling the story of one soldier. The film’s world is divided into two main spaces: the present and the past. We meet the soldiers nowadays during the interview across Europe and Russia, where they share their own story, with admissions and omissions. Using various visual CGI techniques based on documentary material to reconstruct the both the Ukrainian territories where the crimes occurred and avatar of the soldiers interviewed, the film aims to give the viewer a unique experience and understanding of the war itself.
